I am passionate about communicating about science, the environment, and the human elements of these topics. By sharing knowledge and discussing values among diverse peoples, we take steps towards building a more sustainable and equitable world.

One way that I do this is by teaching biological knowledge and scientific practice. I have co-taught (or assisted in teaching) several undergraduate and graduate level courses at academic institutions in Finland, Panama, Switzerland and the United States. These courses range from introductory biology for science majors, to intermediate courses in ecology and evolutionary biology, to advanced special topics courses and intensive field research experiences.
